RFK Jr: "Vaccine research" probably caused HIV & Spanish Flu
During a health policy roundtable led by presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he made false and potentially dangerous claims about vaccine research. Kennedy suggested that vaccine research was responsible for HIV, RSV, Lyme disease, and even the Spanish flu. However, these claims have been debunked as untrue. HIV is caused by the simian immunodeficiency virus transmitted through zoonotic transmission, not vaccine research. RSV is a respiratory virus spread through droplets and surfaces, not linked to vaccines. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks, and its origins are unrelated to vaccine research. The Spanish flu was a strain of H1N1 influenza that spread through human contact and originated from birds, not vaccines. The panel also included well-known anti-vaxxers like Dr. Sherri Tenpenny and Dr. Joseph Mercola. Kennedy hosting a panel like this and the baseless claims he made during it should be viewed as disqualifying for someone aspiring to be the president of the United States.
